The SKUNK Jam - With Jeff "Skunk" Baxter -

I got a call from one of Mr. Jacinto's staff saying that Jeff "Skunk" Baxter will be dropping by the Bistro RJ to jam on a few songs. As any upstanding guitar player would do, I jumped up and said "Yes, I'll be there." I mean, this is an oppurtunity, right?

I arrived at the Bistro at around 10:30 pm and a guy dressed like Elvis was onstage along with RJ and Mr. Baxter. Perplexed, I looked around and saw a great big sign proclaiming Elvis' birthday. Alllllrrriighty then, waht happened to the jamfest? A couple of Elvises later, I saw Tirso and Louie (of Razorback fame) and they too were tripping out on the fake sideburned, glitter-adorned men.

Jeff was great, even though all they played were Elvis tunes. I kinda felt bad for him, though, I bet he was expecting a bunch of guitarists headcutting each other on a blues in E, I know I did.

Tirso, Louie and I were finally called up onstage for the *jam* and we played "Long Train Running", not really the greatest jam song ever written but it went really good nevertheless. We got offstage for some photos then Jeff went on his way. I had a funny feeling that he was glad to finally leave. Come to think of it, if I expect to jam for just a couple of songs then somebody made me sit in 4 Elvis sets and a *jam* with some kids, I would be glad to get outta there as quickly as I could myself! *LOL*

T'was GOOD!!!
